The Scene
One of the most upscale restaurants in Summit County, Chenez prides itself on sophistication, evident in everything from the "no cell phones allowed" sign to attentive replenishment of warm bread. It's cozy and classy and, luckily, there are curtains to hide the tourists strolling along Marriott Town Plaza's concrete walkways outside.

The Food
For a French restaurant, there's a hefty menu, making the choice between eight appetizers, two soups and five salads difficult. French onion gratinee is to drool over, as are seared scallops glistening in garlic, lemon and butter sauce. For a bit of performance art, order the popular Chateaubriand, carved tableside and accompanied by a slightly sparse portion of tender veggies. Seared elk loin with sun-dried cherry and green peppercorn is served with a demi-glace that enhances the rich flavor of this non-gamey meat. Save room, and time, for dessert. The Godiva chocolate or Grand Marnier souffle requires 30 minutes to prepare, but it's worth the wait.
