Description:
The Scene
Located in a strip mall off State Street, Cafe Anh Hong isn't much to look at. Inside, the walls are salmon colored and sparsely decorated with Chinese artwork. A fish tank near the entrance holds live crabs that look like they've lived there a while.
The Food
The menu is similar to what you find at most Chinese-American restaurants. Vegetables are fresh and cooked so they're crisp, not mushy. The moo shu pork is a delicious choice, served on pancakes with sweet hoisin sauce. The shrimp Szechuan style is pleasantly spicy and the shrimp is cooked to perfection. But the star of the menu is the dim sum--you can make a meal of the tasty little morsels. Try the shrimp rice roll, "har kow" or soft pork and vegetable bun. Or mix and match for an interesting contrast in flavors and textures.
